SONG CHOICE DEVELOPMENT

This is a list of songs we considered and discussed making a video for in our group; before finally making a decision.

UNERCOVER MARTYN

BOOM CLAP

ALL I WANT

MOVING TO NEW YORK

RITZ TO RUBBLE

We considered this song due to it's upbeat nature. The song is fast pace

The song would fit in well with stong guitar, bass and drums. It would look good in black and white but would not fit with stobe lighting and sugar skull make up.

The fast pace song would fit well with strobe lighting and band shots but we could not have a strong narritive.

We thought we could do a good narrative with this song, but it is slow so we could not fit in a lot of band shots.

GEETANJALI BAHRA

We considered using this track after viewing a previous media student's music video that used "From Ritz To

There are several reason why we have chosen to use this particular track. Firstly, we agreed that the fast pace of the song would allow us to use effective fast cuts and camera movements: such conventions that are commonly found in professional music videos of the "indie" genre. Secondly, the light-hearted nature of the song ties in with the light-hearted narrative we wanted to use as appose to a dramatic and emotional portrayal; for example, a coloured powder paint battle. Thirdly, the use of electric guitars throughout the song are largely fore-fronted so this would make the use of shots of the artitsts playing their instruments even more effective. This is another typical convention of this particular music genre. Lastly 'Two Door Cinema Club's' original music video for this song does not follow the ideas we want to use so we believe we can put our own origional stamp on it.
