LOCATIONS

THE WOODS

One of our locaion ideas was Oxelys woods on Shooters Hill. We thought we could do some band shots here as there are many open spaces with good lighting, and many levels to get interesting shots from. We planned to have our powdered painf fight here as it is an open area but there are many rees to run around and hide behind. The issues we have concidered are weather, and since it is a public place, people waling across. However it is not a very busy wood so thre re not many people. Incase there is bad weather, we are also planning to shoot at the cavern so we have usuable footage of the band. There are many benches aswell to get group shots of the band. There are large logs laying across the floor that the band could walk on and we could get a low angle shot of their feet. The stairs in the location allow us to get over head shots of the band performing or the paint being thrown. The secluded benches would be perfect for a shot of all the paint fghters sitting down at the end, covered in colour.

GEETA BAHRA

THE CAVERN

We plan to use the cavern to film the band shots. We have coloured lighting and a smoke machine as well as a small stage. We can cover the back wall with black paper or leave it as it is. If we film at night we can bettwe control the lighting. We may have chair set out as if in a n audience or leave the area clear.  There is a whide space on 2 sides of the stage so we can get a range od shots from different angles. We can use strobe lighiting in this room to. We can alter the lighting to the pace fo the song as well as the editing.

After recieving feedback once filming out rough cut, we decided that the cavern was not a suitable venue for the band shots. The walls and carpet did not look good during filming and the stage was too small. We decided to look for a cleaner and more open venue.

SNAPPY SNAPS

We found a venue in Bromely at a photography studio called Sanppy Snaps. The studio was downstairs with white walls a white back drop and a wooden floor. The backdrop covers the floor. The venue was perfect as it came with soft lights and spot lights at out disposal. We planned to back light the performance, but with the stage being small the lights did not look right behind the band. Instead we used the soft light boxes to light the band from the front, and side spot lights with a pink plastic cover to stop the light from being too harsh. The stage was the perfect size for the drum kit, a guitarist and a main singer. We had a microphone stand, a full drum kit, an acoustic electric guitar and black electric guitar.
